{"id":875,"date":"2018-09-03T22:58:08","date_gmt":"2018-09-04T02:58:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/?p=875"},"modified":"2018-12-11T10:32:59","modified_gmt":"2018-12-11T15:32:59","slug":"sangria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/2018\/09\/03\/sangria\/","title":{"rendered":"Sangria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SANGRIA !\u00a0 A Fun wine to party with!<\/p>\n<p>Back in the early 1970&#8217;s,\u00a0 Yago Sangria\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/yago1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-883 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/yago1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"144\" height=\"144\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/yago1.png 144w, https:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/yago1-100x100.png 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 144px) 100vw, 144px\" \/><\/a>\u00a0 hit the market with a big splash!\u00a0 \u00a0This wine was different, full of fruit flavor, sweet and had such a colorful label, people rushed out to buy it.\u00a0 \u00a0 I remember it was difficult just keeping enough of it in stock!<\/p>\n<p>Sangria had its roots in Spain.\u00a0 But In 1964, at the Worlds Fair, the Spanish world area started serving this fruity punch like wine to its visitors and history was made!<\/p>\n<p>Since that time, sangrias have gained popularity as a fun outdoor party wine.<br \/>\nThere are so many different recipes for sangrias, it seems like almost every other person you meet has a slight twist on the ingredients.\u00a0 \u00a0 There are two basic <em>formal<\/em> styles of sangria.\u00a0 \u00a0The original, traditional Spanish style and the newer Mexican style.\u00a0 The biggest difference is that the Mexican version is generally higher in alcohol content.\u00a0 \u00a0That is because brandy or other liquors are added to the wine mix.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mexican Sangria Recipe:\u00a0 \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/redsan.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-885 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/redsan-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/redsan-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/redsan-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>INGREDIENTS:<\/p>\n<p>2 bottles of red wine (recommended: Rioja)<br \/>\n2 cups brandy<br \/>\n1 cup fresh orange juice<br \/>\n1 orange, sliced<br \/>\n1 lemon, sliced<br \/>\n1 lime, sliced<br \/>\n1 apple, cored, and cut into thin wedges<br \/>\n1 pear, cored, and cut into thin wedges<br \/>\n1 (750-ml) bottle club soda, chilled<br \/>\nBrown sugar or granulated sugar (for glass rims)<\/p>\n<p>DIRECTIONS:<\/p>\n<p>Combine the wine, brandy, juice, and fruit in a large container or glass pitcher. Cover and chill completely, 1 to 2 hours or overnight.\u00a0Add soda to mixture when ready to serve. Using a little lime juice wet the rim of the glass and then coat it with brown or granulated sugar.\u00a0\u00a0Serve with ice. (<em>Note:\u00a0 I always remove the fruit after 12 hours in the wine, I found if it stayed longer, there would be too much of an acid flavor to the sangria)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The nice thing about making sangria, is that there really isnt any firm rules.\u00a0 \u00a0There are so many recopies for Red sangria,\u00a0 Rose sangria, and one of my favorites, White sangria.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/white-san.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-879 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/white-san-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/white-san-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/white-san-100x100.jpg 100w, https:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/white-san.jpg 224w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>\u00a0 Here you start with a crisp light white wine, such as a Vino Verde or Sauvignon Blanc.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve always used Prosecco instead of the still wine!.\u00a0 \u00a0I will add summer fruits, grapes, canteloupe, peaches, apricots, etc<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What ever style of sangria you like,\u00a0 Red, Rose, or White,\u00a0 \u00a0Dry or Sweet,\u00a0 Mild or High in alcohol,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/funwine.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-880 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/funwine-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/funwine-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/rdilauro.com\/CarpeVino\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/funwine-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a> \u00a0 its always a fun wine to have.\u00a0 \u00a0Just knowing the ingredients and\u00a0 what the wine taste likes,\u00a0\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">makes you feel like being in an outdoor <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">festival.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Next time you go to a barbecue, think about making some sangria to bring to share with all the company.\u00a0 I am sure it will be a big hit!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SANGRIA !\u00a0 A Fun wine to party with!
