BLENDED SCOTCH<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

BLENDED\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0A\u00a0blended scotch\u00a0whiskey\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0is the product of\u00a0blending<\/b>\u00a0different types of scotch whiskeys and sometimes also neutral grain spirits, coloring, and flavorings. It is generally the product of mixing one or more higher-quality straight or single\u00a0malt\u00a0<\/b>whiskies with less expensive spirits and other ingredients<\/p>\n

Johnny Walker\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/strong>They make several different versions.\u00a0 From the original Red, Black, Blue, Green and Gold.\u00a0 And you cant forget their short lived Double Black.\u00a0 Considering the price of their upper premiums, I still find the Johnny Walker Black to do it all.\u00a0 Its rich, very full and has that strong iodine flavor that is associated with Scotch.\u00a0 A long lingering aftertaste.\u00a0 I prefer this one over ice only.<\/p>\n

To be a\u00a0single malt scotch<\/b>\u00a0the\u00a0whisky<\/b>\u00a0must have been distilled at a\u00a0single<\/b>\u00a0distillery using a pot still distillation process and made from a mash of\u00a0malted<\/b>\u00a0barley. …<\/p>\n

HIGHLAND\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong>Highland distilleries primarily produce single malt, which is made from 100% malted barley at a single distillery. Highland single malt is usually made on a pot still, a less complex distilling apparatus that preserves more of the flavorful congeners produced during the fermentation process. On the whole,\u00a0Highland whiskies<\/a>\u00a0are bold, flavorful, and frequently (although not always) made with peat-kilned barley, giving them a smoky, medicinal quality.\u00a0 \u00a0 Typical Highland flavours:\u00a0 Fruit Cake, Malt, Oak, Heather, Dried Fruit and Smoke.

SPEYSIDE\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Speyside is known for its sweet single malts with either very little peat or absolutely no peat present at all. Some of the World’s most famous whiskies are produced in Speyside,\u00a0Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, Glen Grant and The Macallan<\/em> are world renowned\u00a0scotch whiskies.<\/p>\n

\u00a0LOWLAND\u00a0<\/strong>Lowland whiskies, on the other hand, aren\u2019t always made with barley (many include wheat and\/or corn, making them grain whisky), and peat plays a much less prominent role. Today, many Lowland distilleries use huge continuous column stills, many of which are stories high, to produce enormous quantities of grain whisky quickly. These generally create a light, grassy style that\u2019s used as the base of blended Scotch.\u00a0 \u00a0 Typical Lowland flavours include:\u00a0 Grass, Honeysuckle, Cream, Toffee, Toast and Cinnamon

Balvenie\u00a0 <\/strong>They make so many different styles.\u00a0 Some aged in Oak, some in Sherry casks, some in Port casts.\u00a0 Overall all, the Balvenie family offers a very clean yet firm taste.\u00a0 The absence of peat does not take away from the fullness and perhaps spicy feeling of these single malts.\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Oban\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/strong> A good amount of peat flavor here combined with the slight taste of sea salt balanced with fruit and a caramel nutty flavor.\u00a0 \u00a0I always notice some fresh citrus and vanilla during the taste and the finish always ends with a peaty, smoky, vanilla citrus overtone.<\/p>\n

Talisker\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/strong>A peaty smoky fans delight.\u00a0 Once you open the cork on this one, you can pick up the peat aroma from across the room.\u00a0 \u00a0The taste is just as powerful in terms of peat.\u00a0 Yet, it is so balanced between body, richness, spice that with all that peat it is still a wonderful single malt.<\/p>\n
